The EF Talk Scriber is a combination from text editor program and audio file player, designated to emulate a dictation transcribing machine. It is a multilingual shareware.
Features: The EF Talk Scriber is a tool that helps transcribe audio files. It combines a audio media player with a text editor. Several hot keys let you manipulate the player and the text editor so that you do not need to leave the keyboard for those manipulations.
The interface is well designed. Audio player controls are on the display page with the standard/familiar symbols. Basically the interface lets you control both components easily. The text editor has support for Unicode characters so that far eastern languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc are also supported by the program. Audio formats supported are WAV, MP3, OGG Vorbis and FLAC. The program is supported on Windows and Vista. Windows support include NT4, Windows 200/ XP/ 98/ME/ 2000/ 2003.
Overall: A very niche application. Same thing can be achieved by playing the audio through any of the standard media players and working any text editor. This application just combines those functions and helps you have an integrated environment with hot key controls for any of the required functions.
